Professional Experience

Marketing & Communications Specialist, UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics Department

March 2022 - Present

  • Launched a new department podcast "F.R.E. Lunch" in June 2024. Record, edit, ​​and market monthly episodes, along with creating accompanying classroom discussion guides to enhance learning. 

    • In the first 5 months, the podcast has received over 320 downloads. New episodes average 33 downloads in the first seven days after publication, placing us in the top 50% of podcasts published on the Buzzsprout platform. ​

  • Spearhead graphic design projects for external communications materials including promotional flyers, fact sheets, social media graphics and promotional giveaway items.

  • Collaborate with faculty to promote their research and increase department visibility through press releases, blog content and newsletters.

    • Earned Media Placements in publications such as Mainstreet Daily News, Citrus Industry Magazine, and South-Central Florida Life

  • Manage social media calendar for the department ensuring a consistent online presence with persuasive branding.​

  • Maintain and continually enhance the webpages for the UF/IFAS Economic Impact Analysis Program

    • Launched ticketing system for department website using new request form which increased efficiency.

    • Assist IT/Web Specialist as needed in updating other pages on the site.

Marketing Assistant, UF/IFAS Center for Public Education Issues

  • Create and promote education and outreach materials for the Florida Extension Disaster Education Network (Florida EDEN).

  • Manage social media on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for Florida EDEN and promote informational resources across these accounts.

  • Oversee production of educational videos as necessary for Florida EDEN.

  • Assist in analyzing qualitative research data from focus groups and other social science research efforts.

  • Provide review and copyediting for APA and AP style publications.

  • Created project management system using Microsoft Teams for remote part-time employees during COVID-19 and oversaw its implementation.

  • Coordinated event logistics for series of disaster mental health first aid trainings held across Florida for UF/UFAS Extension agents and other professionals and community members active in disaster response.

House Manager, Hippodrome Theatre

  • Oversaw activity in the building during mainstage plays and special events.

  • Responsibilities included: overseeing ushers, customer service, managing risks such as crowd control and fire safety, and locking up and arming the buildings security system at night.

Development Intern, Hippodrome Theatre

August 2017- May 2018

  • Worked with the Development Associate to maintain healthy relationships with patrons, business sponsors, and charitable donors.

  • Used template to create contracts for new business sponsors and update old contracts for renewal as necessary.

  • Generated and mailed out tax receipts, thank you letters, and appropriate sponsorship-level packages to all charitable donors.

  • Processed donation requests from other non-profit organizations asking for donations of tickets to Hippodrome shows.

  • Scheduled other interns for will call shifts and coordinated RSVPs for special events such as opening nights.

  • Ran all the social media accounts for this organization and coordinated all promotion of the organization and its events.

SPJ Region 3 Mark of Excellence

March 2019

"Peak Florida: is a special project done for WUFT News by myself along with several other journalists, focusing on current issues facing Florida as a result of Climate Change and Overpopulation. The series as a whole won the Mark of Excellence Award in the Online In-Depth Reporting category for the Southeast Region presented by the Society of Professional Journalists.

GSUSA Gold Award

August 2014

The Gold Award is the highest honor awarded through the Girl Scouts Program, equivalent to earning Eagle Scout status in Boy Scouts. For my project, I designed funded, and installed an urban vegetable garden at the Russell Home for Atypical Children in downtown Orlando, Fl, in order to provide a hands-on learning opportunity for the residents while also helping meet the organization's need for fresh produce to meet the resident's nutritional needs.
